Vitamin D deficiency recognised in UK
24th January 2012
Vitamin D deficiency has been recognised as a major problem amongst children in the UK, according to consultant paediatrician Dr Benjamin Jacobs talking to the BBC. It is thought that one in three babies in the UK lacks Vitamin D. The UK's Chief Medical Officer is taking steps to raise awareness of this problem within the NHS. Research links Vitamin D insufficiency to rickets, seizures, poor immune function and more.
