April is IBS awareness month. IBS is a debilitating condition associatied with constipation, diarrhoea or an alternating form, sometimes with abdominal pain, bloating, depression and headaches. This is a very common condition. About 20% of the population are diagnosed with IBS, but but the majority of cases are believed to go unreported. Fortunately IBS is not a life-threatening medical condition, but IBS can have a huge impact on quality of life.
